Taylor & Francis recently hosted Scholarly Summit events exclusively for their journal editors and society partners in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.
The events provided opportunities for this community to network, share ideas, and explore a range of important issues. The program had something for everyone, from publication ethics to open data, with the theme of ‘Fit for the Future: embracing emerging opportunities in scholarly communication‘.
- The Open Data session included a discussion of current issues and debates around Open Data, information on data sharing policies at Taylor & Francis, and a presentation from the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC).
- The Publication Ethics session explained the role of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) from a COPE member, and a discussion of some specific cases and resolutions we have come across at Taylor & Francis in the past few years.
- The lightning sessions covered key topics such as the impact of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), diversity in academic publishing and new digital conference strategy.
