About the role
Educational Research and Evaluation is currently recruiting for an Associate Editor. This is an excellent opportunity for academics with a strong track record in Educational Research. We are seeking engaged subject matter experts who will contribute to the strategic growth of the journal by supporting our editorial leadership, acting as ambassadors within the research community, and helping shape the journal’s future direction. In this role, you will:- Support the Editors and Publisher with specialist expertise to ensure the journal remains at the forefront of the discipline.
- Handle papers through the peer review process within your field of expertise on occasion, ensuring high standards of scholarly rigour.
- Actively promote the journal within your professional networks and represent the title at key industry events and conferences.
- Proactively contribute your own research and collaborate on the development of high-impact Special Issues and article collections.
- Participate in annual Editorial Board meetings to discuss performance metrics and plans for the journal’s long-term development.

- A proven track record as an established or emerging leader within your academic discipline.
- A clear vision and enthusiasm for the journal’s growth and long-term evolution.
- Active engagement in expanding academic networks through conferences and professional social media presence.
- The capacity to devote time throughout the year to the role and participate in Editorial Board meetings and training as required.
- Proactive engagement with Taylor & Francis staff to help implement processes and drive journal improvements.
- Uncompromising ethical standards, including knowledge of COPE guidelines and a commitment to always upholding them.
- A commitment to acting as a high-level ambassador for the journal within the wider research community.

Applications should include your CV and a Cover Letter. Your Cover Letter Vision Statement should be no longer than 500 words and include how you would:- Act as a handling editor and provide constructive feedback.
- Attend Editorial Board meetings and advise the Lead Editors on matters such as journal direction, policies, and strategy.
- Suggest potential Guest Advisors or Guest Editors or contributors for article collections or themed issues.
- Promote the journal to potential authors, reviewers, and readers within their professional networks.
- Help to enhance the journal’s reputation and impact in its field.
