About the role
Xenobiotica is currently seeking two new Associate Editors. We welcome applications from candidates working in academia, industry, or government institutions with a strong track record in one or more of the following areas:
- Pharmacokinetics and ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion)
- Effects of drugs and other xenobiotics
- Mechanisms of effects of drugs and other xenobiotics
- Drug-drug interactions
- NAMS (non-animal models) in assessments of drugs and other xenobiotics
- Omics investigations using drugs and other xenobiotics
- Artificial intelligence in ADME
This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on subject matter experts who want to shape the literature of their discipline. In this active, operational role, you will oversee the peer-review pipeline for your specialty, ensure high scholarly standards, and collaborate with the leadership team to drive the journal's growth.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the peer-review process for manuscripts within your field of expertise, utilizing the journal’s submission system.
- Identify, recruit, and secure qualified peer reviewers to ensure timely, robust, and constructive evaluations.
- Assess reviewer feedback and deliver clear editorial recommendations (Accept, Revise, Reject) to the Editor-in-Chief.
- Uphold research integrity and publishing ethics, ensuring all handled manuscripts adhere to COPE guidelines.
- Proactively commission high-impact content, including inviting submissions, proposing Special Issues, or developing article collections.
- Actively promote the journal within your professional networks and represent the title at key events and conferences.
- Participate in an annual online Editorial Board meeting to discuss journal performance, pipeline metrics, and long-term strategy.

About the journal
Xenobiotica is a subscription-based, peer-reviewed journal that covers seven main areas:
- Pharmacokinetics and ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion)
- Effects of drugs and other xenobiotics
- Mechanisms of effects of drugs and other xenobiotics
- Drug-drug interactions
- NAMS (non-animal models) in assessments of drugs and other xenobiotics
- Omics investigations using drugs and other xenobiotics
- Artificial intelligence in ADME
Topics in xenobiochemistry, in the form of reviews and commentaries are primarily intended to be a critical analysis of the issue, wherein the author offers opinions on the relevance of data or of a particular experimental approach or methodology.
The journal’s audience includes toxicologists, biochemists, pharmacologists, analytical chemists, and chemists.
A close liaison between Xenobiotica and the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics has been established, giving rise to special issues of the journal.

- Proficiency with online peer-review management systems, with the confidence to guide and support the editorial team in their use (although full training can be provided).
- Proactive engagement with Editor-in-Chief, Taylor & Francis staff and suppliers.

- The ability to collaborate effectively with independent peer reviewers.
- Consistent prompt, professional communication with authors throughout the peer-review process.
- Uncompromising ethical standards and a commitment to always uphold the COPE guidelines.
