About the role
Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment invites applications for the role of Editor-in-Chief. This is an excellent opportunity for an academic with a strong track record in neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders. We are seeking a leader who will shape the journal’s editorial vision, expand its reach, accelerate growth in high quality submissions and citations, and foster a vibrant research community. In this role, you will:- Work with the Publisher to develop strategies to attract and commission high-impact submissions – including themed collections, expert perspectives, and reviews.
- Champion best practices in research integrity, transparency, and reproducibility.
- Promote the journal within the community, build networks across relevant disciplines, and support emerging areas of research.
- Support the Publisher with specialist expertise on an ad hoc basis to ensure the journal remains at the forefront of the discipline.
- Lead and participate in annual Editorial Board meetings to discuss performance metrics and plans for the journal’s long-term development.
- Taylor & Francis will provide an annual honorarium to cover any journal-related expenses.

- Biological basis and clinical treatment of Neuropsychiatric conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Disorders and Schizophrenia
- Biological basis and clinical treatment of Neurological conditions such as Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Migraines, Strokes
- Research on the normal brain which gives insight into potential dysfunction, disease or the mechanisms of treatments

- Skill in reading, synthesizing, and making sound editorial decisions based on reviewer reports.
- Recognized thought leadership and a strong professional reputation within your academic discipline.
- Expertise for attracting and commissioning high-impact submissions.
- A clear vision and enthusiasm for the section’s ongoing development.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the open access publishing environment.
- A proven track record as an established or emerging leader within your academic discipline.
- A clear vision and enthusiasm for the journal’s growth and long-term evolution.
- Active engagement in expanding academic networks through conferences and professional social media presence.
- The capacity to devote time each week to the role, and to participate in Editorial Board meetings and training as required.
- Proactive engagement with Taylor & Francis staff to help implement processes and drive journal improvements.
- Uncompromising ethical standards, including knowledge of COPE guidelines and a commitment to always upholding them.
- A commitment to acting as a high-level ambassador for the journal within the wider research community.

- Make decisions for manuscript acceptance or revision.
- Assisting in the development of article collections.
- Provide expert advice on emerging trends and topics within the field.
- Attend Editorial Board meetings and support the Publisher on development strategies.
- Promote the journal to potential authors, reviewers, and readers within your professional networks.
- Help to enhance the journal’s reputation and impact in its field.
