About the role
International Medical Case Reports Journal is seeking Editorial Board Members.
We welcome applications from academics, practitioners, surgeons from all medical and research specialties and across all topic areas of the journal: Cardiology, General / Internal Medicine, Neurology, Practitioner Perspectives, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics
This is an excellent opportunity for respected subject matter experts who want to contribute to the strategic growth of the journal. In this advisory role, you will support our editorial leadership, act as an ambassador within the global research community, and help shape the journal’s future direction without the day-to-day management of the peer-review pipeline.
In this role, you will:
- Provide strategic advice to the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher on emerging research trends and journal scope.
- Act as a trusted peer reviewer for manuscripts within your field of expertise on an occasional basis.
- Actively promote the journal within your professional networks and represent the title at key events and conferences.
- Support content growth by occasionally submitting your own high-quality work or encouraging colleagues to submit.
- Collaborate on special projects, such as suggesting topics or guest editors for high-impact Special Issues and article collections.
- Participate in annual Editorial Board meetings to discuss performance metrics, indexing, and plans for the journal’s long-term development.

About the journal
The International Medical Case Reports Journal is an international, peer-reviewed, open access, online journal publishing original case reports from all medical specialties. Submissions should not normally exceed 3000 words or 4 published pages including figures, diagrams and references.

- Patient Demographics: Cases involving patients of all ages, genders, and ethnic backgrounds
- Healthcare Settings: Reports from various healthcare settings, including:
Tertiary care hospitals
Community health centers
Rural medical facilities
Telemedicine consultations
- Ethical Considerations: All case reports must adhere to strict ethical guidelines, including patient consent and anonymity. Given the specificity of details provided in a case report or case series, authors are required to obtain consent from patients (or their guardians if they are not adults or lack capacity to provide informed consent, or next of kin if deceased) for the publication of the case(s). Consent to publish is a journal requirement and cannot be exempted by an ethics committee. - Scientific Rigor: Cases should be well-documented, include relevant clinical data, and follow a structured reporting format
- Clinical Relevance: Emphasis on cases that provide clear learning points or contribute significantly to medical knowledge
- Follow-up Information: When applicable, inclusion of patient follow-up data to provide insights into long-term outcomes
- Interdisciplinary Approach: Encouragement of case reports that involve multiple medical specialties or healthcare disciplines
- Technology in Medicine: Cases showcasing the use of emerging technologies in diagnosis, treatment, or patient management
