About the role
International Reviews in Physical Chemistry is currently recruiting for Editors who would be operating a journal. This role is a great opportunity for an academic with a strong research background in Physical Chemistry, and who also has the commitment, drive and ability to help develop the journal. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and administration of a rigorous and proper peer review process that delivers an agreed amount of content of suitable scope and quality within an agreed publication timeframe.

About the journal
International Reviews in Physical Chemistry publishes review articles describing frontier research areas in physical chemistry. Internationally renowned scientists describe their own research in the wider context of the field. The articles are of interest not only to specialists but also to those wishing to read general and authoritative accounts of recent developments in physical chemistry, chemical physics and theoretical chemistry. The journal appeals to research workers, lecturers and research students alike.

- An established reputation and strong research profile within the field of physical chemistry, chemical physics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with academic publishing, peer review, and editorial processes.
- Strong insight into research trends and emerging developments through active engagement with the research community.
- A proactive approach to commissioning, attracting, and developing high-quality review content and author relationships.
- Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with authors, reviewers, Editorial Board members, and publishing staff.
- The ability to evaluate reviewer feedback and make fair, timely, and consistent editorial decisions.
- Experience working with peer reviewers and managing peer review efficiently through an online submission system.
- A commitment to delivering a professional, author-focused publishing experience through prompt and constructive communication.
- Knowledge of publication ethics, including familiarity with COPE guidelines and best practices in scholarly publishing.
- The ability and willingness to provide leadership to the Editorial Board and contribute to the journal's strategic development.
- Active participation in the research community through conferences, professional networks, and other scholarly activities.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the evolving open access publishing landscape.
- A clear vision and enthusiasm for the continued growth, quality, and impact of the journal.
