About the role
New Review of Film and Television Studies is hiring a new team member to oversee the development and curation of the NRFTS blog (launched 2020) and podcast (launched 2023). The Online Editor will be responsible for managing the journal’s web presence and public outreach. Our online initiatives are intended to promote and distribute the NRFTS journal and supplementary content in innovative ways that amplify its impact and enhance its accessibility. Primary expectations for this position include coordinating journal communications through NRFTS promotional channels, bolstering and finessing NRFTS brand and web optics, and mobilizing social media to support NRFTS authors and the media studies community we engage. Familiarity with Squarespace is a plus. The Online Editor will work closely with the Associate Editor and Editor.About the journal
Key Skills and Attributes
- Content development and curation – Manage blog and podcast content, coordinate journal communications, and create supplementary materials that promote the journal
- Digital brand management – Enhance web presence, refine brand optics, and manage the journal's online platforms (Squarespace experience is a plus)
- Social media strategy – Mobilize social platforms to support authors, engage the media studies community, and amplify journal impact
- Collaboration and communication – Work closely with the Associate Editor and Editor to align online initiatives with journal goals and enhance accessibility.
