About the role
Compost Science and Utilization is seeking a Social Media Editor to run a LinkedIn account to promote the journal, and further support its increasing reach and dissemination. The successful candidate should ideally be a postgraduate student in an area related to the scope of the journal. They should be able to work and communicate effectively with the Editorial team, as well as interact with the Taylor & Francis subject account. The Social Media Editor will be expected to post topical, popular, and newly published content to the public, and to post about published articles, and issues. The successful candidate is likely to have proven experience of using social media channels in either their professional and/ or personal lives and will ideally provide evidence of growing a social media account. The successful candidate will be appointed as ‘Social Media Editor’ on the journal’s Editorial Board, will be provided with guidance and data to support them in their role, and work with the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors and Publisher to build awareness of CS&U by connecting with the journal’s community online. They will be invited attend virtual Editorial Board meetings.About the journal

Key Skills and Attributes
- Familiarity with key topics, trends, and terminology in the subject area to ensure content is accurate and relevant.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible language for a broader audience.
- Ability to craft engaging, concise, and accurate posts.
- Strong command of grammar, spelling, and tone appropriate for an academic audience.
- Ability to analyze social media metrics (e.g., engagement rates, impressions, click-through rates) and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Skills in fostering online discussions, responding to comments, and engaging with followers in a professional and timely manner.
- Ability to collaborate with journal editors, authors, and other stakeholders to align social media efforts with journal goals.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief.
