About the role

International Journal on Media Management (IJMM) is seeking a Social Media Editor.

We welcome applications from doctoral candidates or PhD holders with a strong background in Media, Communications, or related fields.

This is an excellent opportunity for digitally savvy academics who want to amplify scholarly impact and connect research with broader audiences. In this creative, operational role, you will develop and manage the journal's social media presence, engage with the research community online, and work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board to enhance IJMM's visibility and reach.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and manage active, engaging social media accounts across multiple platforms to promote the journal and its published research.
  • Develop compelling content that communicates topical, popular, and newly published IJMM articles to academic and professional audiences in an eloquent and concise manner.
  • Build and nurture the journal's online community by connecting with researchers, institutions, and industry professionals in the media management field.
  • Collaborate closely with Editor-in-Chief Dr. Bozena I. Mierzejewska, the Editorial Board, and the Publisher to align social media strategy with the journal's goals and priorities.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize engagement, maximize dissemination, and increase the journal's impact within the research community.
  • Participate in journal meetings (virtual or in-person, depending on location) to contribute insights on digital outreach and community engagement.

  • Willingness to participate in journal meetings (virtual or in-person) and training as needed.
  • Analytical mindset to monitor engagement metrics and adapt content strategy to optimize reach and impact.

Community Building & Networking

  • Experience collaborating effectively with researchers, institutions, and professional communities online.
  • Enthusiasm for connecting scholarship with broader audiences and fostering meaningful engagement around published research.

Academic Foundation

  • Studying for or holding a doctoral degree in Media, Communications, or a related field.
  • Understanding of the academic publishing landscape and commitment to promoting rigorous, high-quality research.
  • Consistently professional communication that upholds the journal's reputation and scholarly standards.
